as posted by the channelCase Background: Kouri Richins, 33, invited her friends over for a party the day after her husband, Eric Richins, 39 died at their 10-acre home. His body was found at 3AM on March 4th, 2022 and it was later revealed that he died from a fent*nyl overd*se after drinking a Moscow Mule cocktail that his wife had made for him.
The day after his death, Kouri closed a deal on a $2 million house that they had been arguing over and threw a party to celebrate it. She believed she would be getting his life insurance, but Eric had suspected her of wanting to harm him for a while, so he changed his life insurance beneficiary to his sister. In the 3 years leading up to his murder, Eric suspected that he was poisoned by her in Greece while on a trip, and on other occasions, telling his family that if something ever happened to him, they should suspect Kouri had something to do with it. He was thinking of getting a divorce, but had been stalling because he was thinking of his three young sons and the effect it would have on them.
On March 7th, 2023, Kouri published a children's book titled, "Are you with me" and started promoting it in media interviews. She was planning on releasing a series of books to 'help children deal with grief', and was posting pictures of herself with her deceased husband on Instagram with captions like: “Life is just so damn hard without you here! The cards I have been dealt just seem like a game that cant be played". Kouri was arrested on May 8th, 2023 and charged with first-degree aggravated murder and three counts of second-degree possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute. She is being held without bond and now has NEW charges that she will be facing. Her preliminary hearing is now scheduled for June 18th-20th, 2024.
👀Note: Kouri evicted her paramour from one of her condos in November 2022, allegedly because he was on m*th; he experienced homelessness after this, lived in his Ford F150 pick up truck, and went on to have several run-ins with the law. Source linked in description box.😳
