as posted by the channelCASE BACKGROUND: 41 year old Laurie Leigh Shaver in Lake County, Florida, was found GUILTY for the murder of her husband, Michael Shaver on September 14th, 2024. He was last seen and heard from in November 2015 and his remains were found buried under a concrete slab by the fire pit on her property in March 2018. Law enforcement was alerted about Michael's disappearance after a friend, Scott Amatuccio contacted them requesting a wellbeing check, saying that he had not seen or heard from him since November 2015.
Laurie had told Michael's family and friend that he had quit his job and abandoned his family. Michael was last seen alive on November 7th, 2015 at a tractor show. Laurie had allegedly used his social media accounts and phone to impersonate him, instructing everyone to leave him alone/not bother him.
After many suspicious actions and a long investigation, Laurie Shaver was arrested on September 17th, 2020 and charged with (1) murder in the second degree with a firearm and (2) accessory after the fact to a life felony. She was only found guilty on the 2nd degree murder charge and faces a sentence of 25 to life.
