YouTube Description
as posted by the channel9-year-old Melodee Buzzard has been missing since October 7th, 2025, after leaving Lompoc, California, on a road trip to Nebraska with her mother, Ashlee Buzzard, in a rented white Chevrolet Malibu (initial CA license plate 9MNG101). Ashlee returned home alone on October 10th and has been uncooperative with authorities. Surveillance footage and witness accounts place them at a gas station between Utah and Colorado on October 9th. Detectives confirmed she switched the rental car's license plates to New York tags (possibly to avoid detection), and also changed her wigs to avoid being recognized.
Ashlee Buzzard was arrested on an unrelated felony false imprisonment charges on November 7th, 2025. At her preliminary hearing on November 20th, the Judge dismissed those charges and she is free to go, without needing an ankle monitor anymore. Let's hear the audio that helped the judge make this decision and discuss the updates in this case.
The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office, with FBI assistance, is investigating, tracing the route via car data, license plate readers, and transactions. No foul play has been confirmed, but family custody disputes and Ashlee's behavior have raised concerns. Melodee is described as 4'6" tall, 75 pounds, with brown hair and eyes; she is homeschooled and at-risk.
