Her badly decomposed and dismembered remains were discovered in September 2025 inside the front trunk of a Tesla registered to him, after the car was abandoned in the Hollywood Hills and impounded.
David Burke is being held without bail. The case will be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney on April 20, 2026, for formal charging decision. His attorneys strongly deny the allegations, stating the evidence will prove he did not murder Celeste and was not the cause of her death. They emphasize he has only been detained under suspicion and will vigorously defend his innocence.
