Cold Case Breakthrough Turns Dark: Suspect Found Dead Weeks After Arrest

HOUSTON, TEXAS COLD CASE: In August 1990, 22-year-old Cheryl Henry and 21-year-old Andy Atkinson disappeared after going on a date in Houston, Texas. Days later, their bodies were discovered in a secluded area near T.C. Jester Park, a location known locally as a “Lovers Lane.” Cheryl had been s/a'd and fatally wounded, while Andy was found bound to a tree and killed nearby.

The case remained unsolved for 36 years despite extensive investigation. Authorities arrested Floyd William Parrott, 64, in Nebraska and charged him with capital murder in connection to this double homicide; he was found dead in his cell just weeks later while awaiting extradition to Harris County, Texas.
