Rebecca Haro Pleads Guilty: Will She Ever Admit Where Her Son's Body Is?

In August 2025, 7-month-old Emmanuel Haro was reported missing by his mother, Rebecca Haro, who claimed he was kidnapped from a Big 5 Sporting Goods parking lot in Yucaipa, California. She told police she was attacked and knocked unconscious while changing his diaper, but when she woke up, the baby was gone. The story triggered a large-scale search across the Inland Empire.

Just over a week later, on August 22, both Rebecca and her husband Jake Haro were arrested. Investigators determined the kidnapping was fabricated. Prosecutors alleged that Emmanuel had been killed by repeated abuse — primarily at the hands of his father — and that Rebecca knew about the abuse but failed to protect him, then helped cover it up.

Jake Haro later pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and was sentenced to 30+ years in prison. Rebecca initially faced a murder charge but ultimately took a plea deal on May 29, 2026.

Baby Emmanuel’s body has never been found.
