West Virginia Mother Arrested for Daughter's Murder After Reporting Her Missing!

In May 2026, the quiet town of Richwood, West Virginia was shaken by a shocking familicide. 26-year-old Ayla Wind was reported missing by her own mother, 50-year-old Staci Leann Wind. Staci claimed Ayla had gone into a gas station for snacks and never returned.

Just days later, on May 22, burned human remains were discovered in a shallow grave near Summit Lake in Greenbrier County. Investigators quickly linked Staci to the scene after finding evidence including items she purchased to dispose of the body, along with blood evidence and signs of a struggle inside the family home on Riverside Drive.

Staci was arrested and charged with first-degree murder. The family, originally from Utah, had been preparing to move back west when this tragedy unfolded. Ayla was a young mother herself, leaving behind a small child.
