The Long Island Serial Killer Rex Heuermann SENTENCED | Judge Calls Him Out!

On June 17th, 2026, Rex Heuermann, the 'Long Island serial killer' (LISK), was SENTENCED life in prison without the possibility of parole in a highly emotional hearing in Riverhead, New York. Victim impact statements and Judge Timmothy Mazzei's statements were heard; Heurmann also made a brief statement. In April 2026, he had pleaded guilty to the seven murders he was charged with (Maureen Brainard-Barnes, Megan Waterman, Amber Lynn Costello, Melissa Barthelemy, Jessica Taylor, Sandra Costilla, Valerie Mack) and admitted to the murdering of an eighth victim, Karen Vergata. The murders took place between 1993 and 2010; he was arrested on July 13th, 2023.

This sentencing brings longawaited justice and closure to the families after decades of pain and a highprofile investigation that intensified following his 2023 arrest via DNA evidence.
