Day 8: VERDICT! The Jury Decides Mario Fernandez Saldana's Fate

DAY EIGHT- Case Background: On February 16th, 2022, 33-year-old Microsoft executive Jared Bridegan was shot and killed in Jacksonville Beach, Florida, after stopping to move a tire that had been placed in the road. His 2-year-old daughter was in the back seat at the time.

Prosecutors allege Bridegan’s murder was a murder-for-hire plot orchestrated by his ex-wife, Shanna Gardner, and her then-husband, Mario Fernandez Saldana. They are accused of hiring Henry Tenon, a former tenant of Saldana’s, to carry out the shooting amid a bitter custody battle over the couple’s twin children.

Fernandez was convicted of first-degree murder and solicitation to commit a capital felony on August 26th, 2026. He is scheduled to be sentenced on October 5th, 2026. Shanna Gardner's has been postponed to May 2027; she will likely be on trial with Henry Tenon (joint trial).
