From the event-
"MONEY IN POLITICS IS THE PROBLEM --
As many of you may know, those of us working to overturn Citizens United are not in agreement as to the best way to get big money out of politics. WOLFPAC among others, believes a convention can be limited to one amendment. Groups like MOVETOAMEND AND REPRESENTUS are analyzing both a convention and an amendment, and some groups feel a convention would open up our Constitution to people from the extreme Right whose goal is to rewrite the Constitution, particularly on issues like a balanced budget amendment. Learn about the different amendments in Congress right now. Have your voices heard.
Not all of us fully understand or agree on what is the best way to overturn Citizens United--so, rather than going back and forth online as to the best way to make the changes we need, United for Democracy Now is having a PANEL DISCUSSION with representatives from the above-named groups to explain their views, discuss the issues and options in a respectful manner and give the public a chance to have their voices heard, as well as ways to get involved.
Time is running out. Big money has taken over our country, our government, and we must act together NOW to make the changes we need to take our country back for the people.
OREN JACOBSON will be the moderator for this event. Oren is a highly respected young activist with great understanding of the issues involved.
We encourage everyone to come and hear the debate for a convention or an amendment, including a discussion of the many amendments sitting in Congress."
