A whistleblower has come forward revealing that DOGE and the Trump administration devised a plan to falsely mark 2.7 million living people as dead inside the Social Security Death Master File. The scheme targeted immigrants, lawful permanent residents, naturalized citizens, and even US citizens, cutting them off from wages, bank accounts, and government benefits to pressure self-deportation or lure them into Social Security offices where ICE would be waiting.
Former senior Social Security executive Jeremiah Schofield, a 25-year agency veteran, refused to carry out the plan after agency lawyers warned it could violate federal law. When Schofield sampled the list, every person on it was still alive, including widows receiving survivor benefits, teenagers, and senior citizens.
