The Democratic Party is heading into the 2026 midterms with every structural advantage and a clear path to retaking the House and Senate, yet corporate establishment Democrats and AIPAC are actively working to sink their own candidates.
Hawk zeroes in on the Maine Senate race, where Graham Platner, the only viable Democratic candidate to unseat five-term Republican Susan Collins, is under coordinated fire from within his own party because he called what Israel has done in Gaza a genocide. Chuck Schumer recruited 77-year-old Janet Mills to run against him. She barely campaigned, raised almost nothing, and dropped out. Yet the opposition never stopped.
The same pattern played out against Hasan Piker, with Third Way and AIPAC coordinating negative coverage through CNN, Jake Tapper, and Dana Bash, all without ever putting Piker on air to respond.
If Platner and James Talarico lose, it won't be Republicans who beat them. It will be Democrats. And the price of that defeat is Donald Trump filling two more Supreme Court seats with names like Eileen Cannon, Emil Bove, and Harmeet Dhillon.
