Maine's Democratic Senate primary is today, June 9th, and Graham Platner is expected to win the nomination to face Republican incumbent Susan Collins, whose vote to confirm Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court remains one of the most consequential votes in recent Senate history.
The most persistent comment Hawk keeps getting on his Platner videos is that Platner will just turn into another John Fetterman. The comparison is based entirely on the fact that both ran left-wing populist campaigns, and nothing else. Fetterman had a stroke while in office, developed significant mental health issues, and became one of the most vocal pro-Netanyahu voices in the Senate, even accepting a gold-plated pager from Netanyahu commemorating the Israeli intelligence operation that detonated pagers carried by Hezbollah militants in Lebanon.
Platner is 41 years old with no comparable history. He publicly fired back at Fetterman at a campaign rally, calling him out by name over his support for the Gaza genocide. Repeating a talking point without evidence is not analysis.
Susan Collins and the Maine Senate race hang in the balance.
