Following his longer breakdown of the Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan New York Times report on the Epstein files, Hawk zeroes in on one detail that has dominated the conversation: senior Trump administration officials held multiple situation room meetings to manage the political fallout from their handling of the Epstein files.

Jen Psaki highlighted the contrast on her show: when Barack Obama was president, his team used the situation room to monitor the military strike that killed Osama bin Laden. Under Donald Trump, the same room hosted strategy sessions on covering up the president's alleged sex crimes against minors, including a discussion one official described as devolving into a lengthy conversation about nipples.

The New York Times report also confirmed that Vice President JD Vance proposed enlisting Tucker Carlson to interview convicted child sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell in prison to help clear Trump publicly.

Meanwhile, Trump traveled to New York City earlier in the week and is planning a cage match on the White House lawn to celebrate his 80th birthday, as inflation hits a three-year high.
