Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche and Stephen Miller both took the microphone at a National Guard event in Washington DC on Thursday to thank troops for their work on Trump's city beautification projects. Both were drowned out by protesters with bullhorns and sirens. Hemant Mehta noted the particular irony of Miller getting shouted down. Hawk also shares the story of Miller abandoning his $6.5 million Alexandria, Virginia home in the middle of the night after neighbors wrote messages in sidewalk chalk outside, relocating his family to housing on a military base.
Trump appointed Bill Pulte, a Florida home builder, as acting Director of National Intelligence, overseeing 17 intelligence agencies. Pulte's chief of staff, Christina Norton, is a former RNC official whose recent work centered on 2020 election fraud claims. Pulte has been given blanket authority to declassify materials across the intelligence community.
The FBI is currently deploying over 200 analysts to investigate the 2020 election, six years after the fact. Ken Dilanian reported from MSNBC with Stephanie Ruhle that Kash Patel has already purged roughly a thousand senior FBI agents. Multiple witnesses before the January 6th committee testified that Trump privately admitted he knew he lost.
