Not a news video. This one is about getting through a week like the one just finished.
Hawk is candid that the last stretch got heavy, and about what he does when it does. For him the reliable thing has always been physical: exercise, long walks with the dogs, getting outside, putting hands on something real. Movement first, thinking second.
Which is how the basement project started. Retaining walls, plywood platforms, four by fours, rebar driven in with a sledgehammer, dirt moved one shovel at a time. Three nights of it. Then a knee that would not work, a trip into town for a brace, and a couple of days iced up and stuck indoors with the one tool he relies on taken away.
That is the part worth hearing. Not the coping strategy working perfectly, but what you do when it stops being available and the week does not let up.
Plenty of people are carrying the same weight right now. Hawk's message is short: he is still doing the work, and he hopes you are too.
