While Cohen is the only witness who can directly link Trump to the crimes, Hawk believes the documents and testimony have already locked in the case for conviction. However, the defense plans to call just one expert witness. Various Republican figures like Vivek Ramaswamy and Speaker of the House Mike Johnson violated the judge's gag order by making comments supporting Trump outside the courthouse. The judge also upheld the gag order on Trump after an appeal. Hawk expects the cross-examination of Cohen to continue intensely.
There is no court on Friday, allowing Trump to attend his son's graduation, which Hawk doubts he will prioritize. Hawk emphasized that since each charge corresponds to fraudulent documents seen by the jury, a full acquittal is extremely unlikely. He promised to provide further updates when the trial resumes on Thursday after Wednesday's break.
