Hawk calls out Emanuel's appearances on both Kara Swisher's podcast and Pod Save America as thinly veiled groundwork for a 2028 presidential run backed by Third Way, the centrist Democratic think tank now reportedly planning to spend between $30 and $50 million, not attacking Trump or MAGA, but going after progressive voices like Hasan Piker. Third Way is allegedly coordinating with elected Democrats, including Alyssa Slotkin and Ruben Gallego, as well as CNN anchors Jake Tapper and Dana Bash, in this effort.
The Democratic base, polling at roughly 90% in favor of cutting ties with Israel over its conduct in Gaza, is being completely ignored while AIPAC-backed candidates are hand-picked and funded with money that traces back to the $4 billion in annual U.S. aid to Israel. Hawk argues this is textbook foreign election interference. With the Democratic Party itself sitting at around 20% approval, the establishment's continued war on its own progressive base ahead of the 2026 midterms and 2028 presidential election looks less like strategy and more like political suicide.
