Ed Martin: D.C. U.S. Attorney or Russian Asset?

In this video, Hawk discusses the controversial actions of Ed Martin, the acting US Attorney for Washington DC, describing him as an "Uber MAGA" figure engaged in politically motivated activities. Hawk details how Martin has sent threatening letters to political figures including Chuck Schumer and has recently targeted Aaron Zelinski, a former Mueller investigation prosecutor, accusing him of sending an "innocent man" (George Papadopoulos) to prison despite acknowledging Papadopoulos broke the law. Hawk points out that Martin plagiarized significant portions of his letter from a 2020 article by John Solomon and notes Martin's continued fixation on what Trump calls the "Russia hoax."

Hawk then focuses on Michael Caputo, a recent hire by Martin for a senior position in the US Attorney's office. Caputo is described as a Roger Stone protégé with an obsession with "Antifa," who regularly posts images of Florida wildlife with violent messages about how these animals will harm Antifa members. Hawk notes Caputo's problematic history, including attempts to manipulate COVID-19 data while working at Health and Human Services during the first Trump administration and his history of posting racist content about Chinese people that he later deleted.

Hawk concludes discussing a complaint filed against Ed Martin by the Society for the Rule of Law, founded by George Conway. The complaint details numerous alleged violations of DC rules of professional conduct, including threats against political opponents, improper communications with January 6th defendants, and using his office for political retribution. Hawk expresses concern that Martin, who has not yet been confirmed to his position, is "weaponizing his office" to target Trump's perceived enemies and using the Department of Justice for political vendettas.
