The Second Amendment has been defended for decades as protection against tyrannical government overreach. Now that tyranny is actually here, the tactical gear crowd has gone completely silent. The same patriots who stockpiled plate carriers, AR magazines, night vision goggles, and Kevlar knuckle gloves are doing nothing while unarmed protesters show more courage. TikTok Shop algorithms reveal the contradiction as Second Amendment advocates continue selling tactical vests, helmets, and gear while refusing to stand against actual government tyranny.
The 3 Percenters, named after those who supposedly fought the British monarchy during the American Revolution, claimed they would be part of that brave minority resisting oppression. Instead, some have joined ICE, the very enforcement arm of government overreach they warned about. Minneapolis protesters without weapons are defending democracy and freedom while heavily armed patriots with "We The People" tattoos and Oakleys remain passive.
This addresses the gap between rhetoric and action among those who spent 60 years insisting firearms exist to protect against tyrannical government. The tactical pants, laser sighting tools, and range training were supposedly preparation for defending constitutional rights. When the moment arrived, the response has been compliance rather than resistance. The plate carriers gather dust while government actions against immigrants preview what could happen to anyone. The Second Amendment crowd's silence speaks volumes about whether their patriotism extends beyond their own demographic.
