Hawk walks through the staggering reality that the three branches of government - Congress, the presidency, and the Supreme Court - have all collapsed under the weight of bad faith actors.
Article One is a rubber stamp. Article Two has zero guardrails. Article Three gave us presidential immunity, stripped abortion rights, and overturned 50 years of precedent. The 25th Amendment is useless when a president hand-picks loyalists. Impeachment has failed twice. The Samson Option, Leonard Leo, the Federalist Society, Mitch McConnell, the machinery dismantling American democracy has been running for years.
The Constitution was built entirely on trust and good faith, trust that elected officials would honor their offices, that Supreme Court justices would respect precedent, that a cabinet would act when a president went off the rails. None of that is happening. JD Vance, Republican senators, conservative justices — none are acting within the spirit of the document they swore to uphold.
Trump threatened nuclear war, said "an entire civilization will die," then blessed the people he just threatened. The Constitution is obsolete. Congress is on vacation.
