While Galloway attributes young men's circumstances to forces beyond their control, algorithms and social media platforms play a massive role in shaping their worldview through content from Jordan Peterson, Nick Fuentes, Andrew Tate, and Joe Rogan's sphere.
Race matters significantly in this conversation. Young white men represent the overwhelming majority experiencing red pill ideology, not young black men or other demographics. Mass shooters in America are predominantly young white men. Serial killers are almost always white men. These patterns can't be ignored when analyzing what young men face today.
Misogyny remains rampant even in professional settings like the legal community. Young women attend safety classes at sororities to avoid rape at frat parties, establishing buddy systems to protect each other. Women face domestic violence from male partners at alarming rates. Forty percent of cops abuse their wives or domestic partners. Women get murdered by men simply for rejecting their advances. In 2021, nearly 5,000 women were murdered in the United States, with 34% killed by husbands, boyfriends, or partners.
White men in state legislatures fight to maintain child marriage legality. Jeffrey Epstein and Matt Gates represent patterns of abuse and exploitation without female equivalents. Religions worldwide preach women's subjugation. Trad culture makes a disturbing comeback. Violence against women, stalking, rape, campus sexual assault, and domestic abuse rarely enter Galloway's analysis of young men's struggles.
