as posted by the channelIn 2024, Saint Peter’s Chapel in Lucerne, Switzerland, installed an AI-powered avatar of Jesus inside a confessional booth. The project, called "Deus in Machina," was created by theologian Marko Schmid and researchers from Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts.
The AI was trained on the New Testament, spoke over 100 languages, and invited visitors to share their struggles in a space traditionally used for confession for over 1,000 years. Nearly 900 conversations took place during the two-month experiment.
