Prosecutors called a forensic accountant with nearly four decades of experience to break down the financial picture behind the Richins family’s real estate business.

According to her testimony, Kouri Richins was juggling millions in loans, mounting overdrafts, daily payday lender payments, tax liens, and a real estate empire built largely on borrowed money. By the time Eric Richins died in March 2022, the numbers suggested a financial situation that prosecutors say was imploding.
