R. Kelly was found guilty Monday for sexually abusing girls, boys, and women over a period of decades. This is the end of R. Kelly's spectacular fall from grace in R&B.
54-year-old "I Believe I Can Fly” crooner was convicted of all nine charges, including racketeering, violations of the Mann Act which prohibits "any woman or girl" from being transported across state lines for "immoral purposes," and racketeering.
He could spend 10 years in prison.
A jury of seven men, five women, deliberated for nine hours over two days before arriving at their unanimous verdict.
The beginning of the one-month-long trial in Brooklyn's federal courthouse, Kelly was portrayed by prosecutors as a "predator", who used his fame and a group of employees to prey upon young victims.
In her opening statement, Maria Cruz Melendez, Assistant US Attorney stated that "This case does not concern a celebrity who loves to party a lot."
She said, "This case concerns a predator." #rkelly
