8:31Now PlayingShotti, Tekashi 6ix9ine’s former manager is looking for new legal counsel, as he is reportedly down to $1,200 and unable to retain an attorney.
According to court documents, Shotti cited the Criminal Justice Act in a U.S. Court of Appeals motion dated October 20. Individuals can have legal representation appointed for them under the CJA. This is available in all federal cases. The CJA plan will pay for a private or public lawyer if the person meets the requirements.
Shotti, whose real name was Kifano Jordan, stated in court documents that he had $1,200 in cash on hand and money in savings or checking account. Shotti also claimed that he hasn’t received any income in the last year. Shotti claimed that he has been prevented from researching appeal issues because he is being held in isolation due to pandemic restrictions.
The document stated that "the petitioner's case was complex and beyond his understanding of the law and its procedural procedures." "The petitioner urgently needs legal counsel to prepare the issues, supporting facts, and laws that will support each issue before this honorable court."
Shotti is currently serving a 15-year sentence for his involvement in Treyway's racketeering case and 6ix9ine.
