Pooh Shiesty will be remaining behind bars until his sentencing following an evidentiary hearing earlier this week. According to Complex, Shiesty’s legal team’s attempt at having their client receive bond was denied by Magistrate Judge Lauren Fleischer Louis on a court order dated January 13.
Judge Louis didn’t believe Pooh Shiesty — born Lontrell Williams — had a right to bond retention after his guilty plea deal made on January 4.
Pooh Shiesty’s attorneys pitched Judge Louis on a strict bond plan that involved “unspecified monitoring, limited visitation, and drug and alcohol treatment, but she still wasn’t going for it.While she agreed the plea has him facing much less severe charges, she noted he wasn’t entitled to bond due to the plea deal and noted his superstar status in the public eye.
Shiesty caught a break in his 2020 Florida armed robbery case when he pleaded guilty to a single firearms conspiracy charge which had the prosecution throw out the other three charges he was facing. With the deal, Pooh Shiesty is no longer facing a life sentence and the prosecution agreed to recommend that the “Back In Blood” rapper serve a maximum of a 97-month or eight-year prison sentence. #poohshiesty
