On Wednesday, Eric Holder (33) was sentenced to 60 years to life in prison for the fatal on-camera shooting of Ermias Asghedom, the West Coast rapper better known as Nipsey Hussle. The highly publicized incident occurred near the storefront of Nipsey's place of business, The Marathon Clothing Store, in South Los Angeles on March 31, 2019.
The ruling was handed down by Superior Court Judge H. Clay Jacke after Holder's defense attorney, Aaron Jansen, delayed the process with two appeals based on the contention that his client suffered from mental health deficiencies. Prosecutors involved in the legal proceedings opposed Jansen's stance, indicating that Holder's murderous actions were intentional.
