Megan Thee Stallion was awarded a 5-year restraining order against Tory Lanez after a hearing on Thursday (January 9).
Nancy Dillion, a reporter for the Rolling Stone, said that Megan gave an emotional testimony on video.
âI want my restraining order because I havenât been at peace since I [was] shot,â Megan said.
Megan also testified that she rarely leaves her house because of anxiety and harassment. She said that people constantly yell âFree Toryâ at her.
During the hearing, Meganâs attorney Mari Henderson, argued that her client needed the restraining order because she was âa victim of a violent crime.â Also, the presiding judge cited âseveral uncontroverted factsâ including Tory shooting âshooting approximately 5 rounds at the petitioner that resulted in injuries to her.â
Michael Hayden, Lanezâs lawyer, argued that instituting a restraining order impinges on his clientâs âprior restraintâ on free speech. He stated that Lanez has no intention of contacting Megan in the future and âhas no desire to communicate with the petitioner ever again.â #torylanez #megantheestallion
