as posted by the channelEstonia in WWII was first occupied by the USSR. Then, in June 1941, the Germans took control of the Baltic nation. The horrors of Soviet occupation – such as the June Deportations – were still fresh in the minds of the Estonians. Estonian men could volunteer for the Estonian Legion (1st Estonian SS Volunteer Grenadier Regiment) and later the 20th Waffen Grenadier Division of the SS (1st Estonian). They fought during the Battle of Narva (1944) and pulled back to Czechoslovakia. There the war came to an end for the Estonian Waffen-SS volunteers. This video is about Baltic collaboration in WW2. Or can we call these Baltic Waffen-SS volunteers freedom fighters?
