as posted by the channelDuring World War II in the Netherlands there existed different forms of Dutch collaboration. Most well known was the NSB (National Socialist Movement (Nationaal-Socialistische Beweging)) led by Anton Mussert. Within this movement there were different ideas. Mussert clashed with Henk Feldmeijer and Meinhoud Rost van Tonningen who believed the Netherlands should be absorbed in the German Third Reich. Therefore the Dutch SS (Nederlandsche SS) was created. It later became known as the Germanic SS. Men from this faction later fought as Waffen-SS volunteers on the Eastern Front or in the unit Landstorm Nederland. A fairly obscure story of WW2 in Holland.
