In the summer of 1943 Italian dictator Benito Mussolini fell from power. The Italian King formed a new government led by Pietro Badoglio. Under his leadership Italy would surrender in September 1943. Italian troops outside Italy were left without orders. What happened to them? What happened to Italian troops stationed in Greece, Albania, Yugoslavia and France during World War II when the Italian capitulation came around? The focus of this video is on the Italian soldiers abroad in Europe.
