YouTube Description
as posted by the channelThe 4th SS Polizei Panzergrenadier Division was formed in 1939 from members of the German Order Police (Ordnungspolizei). Initially a motorized infantry unit, it was later upgraded to a panzergrenadier division. Deployed to France, the Balkans, and later the Eastern Front, it participated in brutal anti-partisan operations and front-line combat, including the Siege of Leningrad. The division was notorious for its war crimes, particularly in Greece at Distomo in 1944. Despite being poorly equipped compared to other SS units, it fought in several key battles. It surrendered to Western Allies in 1945.
