YouTube Description
as posted by the channelKauaʻi is home to an awful lot of chickens, but the county has no rooster noise ordinance.
It’s a source of frustration for residents of a street that sits in the shadow of the Makaleha Mountains.
Folks there claim the noise from a rooster farm next door is unbearable in the early hours of the night, and they suspect the birds are being bred for cockfighting.
But as officials will tell you, it’s hard to bust farmers raising chickens for cockfighting.
Not to mention that it’s often seen as a cultural rite, and some on the Garden Island have serious concerns about what cracking down on cockfighting could mean for the economy.
