Despite some opposition from within his own government, Netanyahu agreed to the deal, citing the need to focus on the Iranian threat, replenish stocks, and separate the fronts to isolate Hamas. The IDF has warned Lebanese civilians not to return home until it is safe, and Israeli forces will remain in their positions in South Lebanon for the time being.
