Tel Aviv says that Syrian troops cannot move south of Damascus, and it will not tolerate attacks on Syria’s Druze community. The Druze are an Arab people who follow a religion which is an offshoot of Islam. The Druze people mostly live in Syria, Israel and Lebanon. The Druze in Israel have been protesting after deadly sectarian clashes erupted in southern Syria last week, targeting the Druze community there.
