4:45Now PlayingThe Israeli Defence Forces launched multiple airstrikes on Houthi-controlled areas in Yemen on Sunday. Houthi health officials said that over six people were killed and 86 injured in the Israeli attack. IDF’s Sunday strikes on Yemen were the latest in a series of direct attacks and counterattacks between Israel and the Houthis in more than a year of confrontation. Israeli military officials stated that the airstrikes were conducted in response to continuous Houthi attacks on Israel. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also vowed a tit-for-tat response to anyone who dares to attack Israel. In Sunday’s attack, Israel targeted multiple Houthi assets, including a petroleum product depot southeast of Sanaa belonging to the Yemeni Oil Corporation. While Israel claimed to have hit all the targets, Yemen’s military expert, Brigadier General Omar Mar’boun, claimed Houthi air defences forced several Israeli jets to leave Yemeni airspace. Mar’boun stated that they prevented IDF from hitting intended targets.
