as posted by the channelIsraeli forces have intensified their airstrikes on Syria. The IDF carried out multiple drone and airstrikes in the capital Damascus city. A military barrack was targeted in the Kiswa area, around 13 kilometres south of the capital city.
At least 10 soldiers of the Syrian army’s 44th Division were killed on Tuesday. Syrian officials claimed that strikes came after spying devices were found in the area. The attack took place just 10 kilometers from the site of the country’s international fair. Ahmad al-Sharaa had inaugurated the event for the first time. Experts dubbed the Israeli attacks a display of power. Syrian military officials said that apart from airstrikes, the IDF also carried out landing operations in the country. Dozens of Israeli soldiers were airdropped in the military barracks. Reports suggest that the IDF brought search equipment and carried out an over two-hour-long operation in the Syrian territory.
The IDF reportedly raided an air defence base, previously operated by Hezbollah during the Bashar al-Assad rule. The base was bombed by Israel previously. This was the second consecutive day of Israeli strikes in Syria targeting military sites in the Jabal al-Mana area near Al-Kiswah. Despite Syrian forces manning the military base, the IDF soldiers met with no resistance.
