Super Typhoon Ragasa is maintaining its ferocious intensity as it barrels toward Hong Kong, after killing at least five people in its path through Taiwan and the Philippines. Authorities in Hong Kong have issued their third-highest typhoon warning, with at least 700 flights cancelled and “severe disruption” expected from 6pm today. Forecasters have described Ragasa as the most powerful storm on Earth in 2025, with sustained winds of 185 kmph and terrifying gusts reaching 230 kmph, according to the Philippine weather agency Pagasa.
