Senate President Pro Tempore Panfilo “Ping” Lacson announced his return as Blue Ribbon Committee Chairman, vowing to reopen investigations into alleged corruption in flood control projects and the 2026 national budget worth ₱6.793 trillion. Lacson said the next Blue Ribbon hearing on November 14 will feature new testimony from a key witness and potential subpoenas for accounting ledgers linked to the scandal. He pledged greater budget transparency, targeting unprogrammed funds and “alien” insertions. Figures such as Martin Romualdez and Zaldy Co may also face questioning as part of the Senate’s widening anti-graft inquiry.
