YouTube Description
as posted by the channelUS-Iran War Update: Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, during a rally in Esztergom on Saturday, voiced concerns about Budapest's energy security due to the increasing probability of oil prices spiking amid a US-Israel attack on Iran.
"There is also a [Hormuz] strait there, through which not only Iranian oil but also the oil of other Arab countries is transported to the world market by tankers. It can be closed, or it may be blocked due to the war. This means it threatens us now," he said.
Orban reiterated Ukraine's decision to stop oil deliveries has effectively put Hungary under an 'oil blockade'. "If we did not know the Ukrainians, including the president, who is worth his salt, and if we had not prepared for this possibility, and if we had not maximised our reserves as we did, in a way that the public could only partially follow, then we would be in big trouble today. That would mean that with the rise in world market prices and the oil blockade," he continued.
