Speaking about the growing conflict linked to US President Donald Trump’s Iran war, Slotkin pointed to media reports suggesting that Russia could be helping Iran identify or target U.S. ships and aircraft operating in the Middle East.
“There are press reports that the Russians are helping target U.S. ships and aircraft… If Russia is helping to kill U.S. forces, we have crossed a Rubicon,” Slotkin said, stressing the gravity of such involvement.
She argued that if those reports prove true, the United States must respond firmly. “We have to take decisive action on that, and instead, we're giving them breaks on oil,” she added, criticizing what she sees as a lack of strong consequences for Moscow.
Slotkin’s remarks highlight growing concerns in Washington about the Russia–Iran relationship and the potential risks to American troops as tensions continue to escalate across the Middle East.
