Speaking at a weekly press conference, Baghaei said Iran is still exchanging messages with the United States through a Pakistani intermediary, but confirmed that no date has been set for the next round of talks. He criticized Washington’s stance, calling it “unreasonable and unrealistic,” and emphasized that Iran’s position has already been clearly communicated.
“This is not a new issue. They are already familiar with our positions from previous negotiations, which were primarily focused on the nuclear file,” Baqaei stated. He further underscored Iran’s red line, saying, “Any negotiation based on one side dictating terms to the other is unacceptable.”
Amid speculation over a possible ceasefire extension, Baghaei said such reports remain “not confirmed,” adding that discussions are still ongoing through Pakistani mediation.
The developments highlight the fragile state of diplomacy as both sides navigate high-stakes negotiations with no clear breakthrough in sight.
