8:51Now PlayingWorld News: Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov took a direct aim at Donald Trump during a press conference in New Delhi. He delivered a major message on BRICS and global power politics after Donald Trump’s high-profile visit to China, as Moscow signaled there would be “no decline” in cooperation despite growing pressure from the United States.
The developments came after Trump claimed China agreed to purchase 200 Boeing jets following talks in Beijing. But Beijing’s response quickly sparked speculation that China may have undercut Trump’s narrative behind the scenes, raising fresh questions about the real state of U.S.-China relations.
He also accused Germany of “once again leading the charge in support of Nazism in Europe” and claimed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had been turned into a modern-day “Führer.” Lavrov said, “Nobody even bothers to hide their true colours,” before alleging that “President Zelensky has now been appointed to the role of Fuhrer.” He further claimed that a new European alliance was forming around Ukraine with Germany playing the “leading and driving role.”
The Russian foreign minister also argued that protecting the rights of Russian-speaking minorities in Ukraine must be “unconditional,” insisting it was Ukraine’s obligation under both the UN Charter and its own constitution.
During the remarks, Lavrov additionally took aim at the West and appeared to dismiss criticism surrounding Donald Trump, saying, “I don’t see any decline...” as Moscow continued pushing its narrative on the world stage amid the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war.
Meanwhile, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov claimed European nations were not genuinely interested in diplomacy and said the United States was the only major power actively pursuing a settlement. Russian, Ukrainian, and U.S. officials have reportedly held multiple rounds of talks in Abu Dhabi and Geneva, including discussions around a peace proposal linked to President Donald Trump.
