11:18Now PlayingWorld News: Prime Minister Narendra Modi issued a strong warning to the world amid rising global instability, wars, and the ongoing Iran crisis, cautioning that decades of economic progress could be reversed if current conditions continue.
Speaking to the Indian diaspora in The Hague during his visit to the Netherlands, PM Modi said the world was going through an “extremely challenging phase” shaped by the after-effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, global wars, and an escalating energy crisis.
“First came corona, then wars broke out, and now there’s an energy crisis,” Modi said, warning that “this decade is becoming a decade of crises for the world.”
The Indian Prime Minister stressed that the consequences could be severe if global instability continues unchecked. “If this situation does not change quickly, the achievements of past decades could be wiped away,” he warned. “A large section of the world’s population could fall back into the trap of poverty.”
Modi also emphasized the growing partnership between India and the Netherlands in creating resilient and trusted global supply chains at a time when geopolitical tensions are disrupting economies worldwide.
“In such global circumstances, the world today is talking about resilient supply chains, and India and the Netherlands are working together to build a trusted and transparent supply chain,” he said.
The remarks come as tensions remain high over the Iran war, energy markets, global trade routes, and economic uncertainty affecting countries across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
