0:43Now PlayingBrazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has accused US President Donald Trump of acting like a “pirate” over a proposal to charge ships a 20% fee for crossing the Strait of Hormuz. Lula argued that the United States had no justification for imposing such a levy and said Washington bore responsibility for the current tensions in the region. He also warned that the economic impact of the conflict would not remain limited to shipping or oil markets, but would eventually raise the cost of everyday essentials such as beans, rice, tomatoes and onions.
