3:53:33Now PlayingWATCH: Sen. Richard Blumenthal introduced a resolution urging the U.S. Senate to sue President Donald Trump for alleged violations of the Constitution's Foreign Emoluments Clause, arguing that foreign gifts, investments, and financial benefits accepted without congressional approval threaten national security and the rule of law.
Blumenthal cited Trump's reported Qatar jet, crypto investments linked to foreign sovereign wealth funds, and other alleged foreign benefits while claiming the Oval Office has effectively been turned into a "for sale" office. He argued that the Senate must enforce the Constitution because "the law is a dead letter if it's not enforced."
Republican Sen. Rick Scott forcefully objected, calling the resolution politically motivated and accusing Democrats of weaponizing the Constitution to attack President Trump instead of addressing inflation, government funding, election security, and the national debt.
