The winner of the Democratic primary will advance to the general election and face Republican Rep. Mike Rogers in one of the nation’s most closely watched Senate races. El-Sayed has built his campaign around themes of economic justice, healthcare reform, workers’ rights, and reducing the influence of wealthy donors in politics.
