Lindsay Clancy Update: Boston Globe Health & Sciences Reporter Sarah Rahal Breaks Down All The Meds

The jury is deliberating in the Lindsay Clancy trial, and one of the biggest questions surrounding the case may extend far beyond the courtroom: Did the mental-health system fail Lindsay Clancy before the deaths of her three children?

Boston Globe health and science reporter Sarah Rahal (Instagram: @sarah.rahal) joins Billy Bush to break down her extensive reporting on Clancy’s psychiatric treatment and the staggering medication timeline presented during the trial.

According to the evidence Rahal examined, Lindsay received approximately 30 prescriptions involving 13 different medications in roughly four months, prescribed across multiple doctors and treatment settings. Billy and Sarah examine how that happened, whether anyone was coordinating her care, the impact of telehealth, gaps in medical-record sharing, and the difficulty of finding specialists trained specifically in postpartum mental health.

They also discuss the medications at the center of the trial, Lindsay’s repeated attempts to seek help, her calls to a suicide hotline, and what the jury appears to be examining as it works toward a verdict.
