He has been recognized for his effective leadership on a range of national issues while fulfilling his commitment to faithfully represent the citizens of the First Congressional District of Arkansas in Washington, D.C.
Congressman Berry has fought to lower prescription drug prices to ensure that all seniors can afford medication, as the only pharmacist serving in the House of Representatives. He has also worked tirelessly to reduce crime in rural areas by funding local police programs and battled the abuse of methamphetamines in Arkansas and across the country.
As a member of the House Agriculture committee from 1997-2002, Berry fought for the interests of family farmers across the country, and in particular farmers in Arkansas' First Congressional District. He was instrumental in passing the 2002 Farm Bill that gave farmers the safety net they need to continue producing the safest and most bountiful food and fiber supply in history.
